Some Down Time With The Minis

action shot of the princess

The Princess doesn’t have classes for two days because of the scheduled STE (Student-Teacher Encounter, otherwise known as an exam). The whole class doesn’t take it all at the same time. Instead, the teachers schedule about 5 kids per day. This way, the little ones have enough one-on-one time with their teachers.

My girl already took her Written STE last Tuesday. Finally. It was delayed for a week because of Typhoon Rammasun (Glenda) that prompted schools to suspend classes for a week in Rizal and many other areas. I’m not sure how she did because as you all know, I have a very creative little girl. Part of the Written STE required her to connect dots to create straight lines. Being the creative person that she is, during our reviews, she would connect the dots to create lines THEN connect the lines to create shapes! Or, instead of drawing straight lines, she’d draw zigzags because “Zigzags are fun!”

But anyway. Let’s just pray she did well. 😀

Her Oral STE will be tomorrow. This is going to be interesting because my smart little girl was reviewed by her dad. And when it’s daddy who teaches her, she learns crazy things! One of the questions that may be asked during the STE is “What is your daddy’s name?” You know what The Princess’ answer to that question is? “My daddy is Daddy Arjay Pogi Reyes.”

Last Monday, it was the hubby who fetched our girl to school. As soon as she saw her dad walking to the preschool waiting area, she excitedly told her teacher, “It’s Daddy Arjay Pogi!” The teacher said, “Yes, it’s DADDY ARJAY,” which The Princess corrected, “No, it’s Daddy Arjay Pogi.” Oh my goodness.

Aside from getting ready for the Oral STE, we used our two days off from school to relax and have some fun. Last week was crazy because of the typhoon so I made sure the minis and I could have some down time. Something we enjoy doing together are photo sessions. Here are some of my favorite snaps:

The photo of The Princess was taken using my DSLR. The Little Man’s photo was taken using my iPhone.

We’re back to school tomorrow and on Saturday (Yes! We have to go to school for a few Saturdays to make up for the class suspension) so we truly treasure these down times.
