The Minis’ Play Day at Kidzoona SM Masinag

I have been hearing a lot of raves about Kidzoona recently so when I found out that they opened a branch in SM Masinag, I knew I had to bring the minis there. Besides, The Princess has been asking me to bring them to a playground ever since her summer vacation began. We do have a playground in our village, but the weather has been so intense, which is why I prefer that they play in an indoor playground. Hence, our trip to Kidzoona last weekend.

Since we went there on a weekend, it was expected that there will a lot of kids playing at Kidzoona. The play area is really big though so it didn’t feel too crowded. Still, I’d recommend that you go here on a weekday so the kids can really enjoy the whole play area.

How was our experience at Kidzoona SM Masinag?

The Little Man really enjoyed sliding down the inflatable slide and landing on a pit of balls. He practically spent the whole hour there. I didn’t realize he’s that strong already! I thought he won’t be able to climb and slide on his own…but he can! Our little man is not so little anymore!

The Princess preferred the kid-sized shops. She enjoyed wearing the costumes and playing pretend with me. This is her playing sushi master in the mini sushi bar:

I love that the staff are very proactive. They would play with the kids, assist parents and quickly clean up messes in the play area with big smiles on their faces. I can tell that they’re really enjoying their job! This is a biggie for me because I want staff in playgrounds who are good with kids. That way, you know that the kids will be taken good care of. May malasakit, as they say.

We weren’t able to take lots of photos of our play day at Kidzoona because Arjay and I both wanted to enjoy it with the minis instead of being behind a camera. So my apologies for showing just two photos. 😀

What can they improve on?

Honestly, the experience in the play area in general was very good. I love that the area is spacious and we absolutely love all the toys they have for the kids. I do think that they need to be more strict with their play rules–for kids AND parents alike.

For instance, I hope they can do something about kids who hurt other kids. The Princess was almost pushed off from the pole going up the slide by another kid simply because he didn’t want anyone else to climb up. Luckily, I was able to run towards the slide to catch my daughter. If I didn’t make it, she would have fallen really hard and injured herself. It was disappointing because although the kid’s mom saw what her son did, she just shrugged it off. As in she didn’t even tell her boy that he shouldn’t do that.

There was also another instance when the Little Man wanted to play with the puzzles, but a mom was playing with it. Note ha, a mom was playing with the puzzle. Her child was somewhere else in the play area. When my son asked if he can have his turn, the mom said, “Baby alis ka. I’m still playing.” Wow.

I’m not sure if Kidzoona has any rules in place regarding violent kids and parents who won’t let other kids play with toys, but really, they ought to be more strict about these things.

Other than these two observations, our experience at Kidzoona SM Masinag was good. Will we bring the minis back? Probably…but most likely on a weekday.
