Hooray! We just celebrated The Princess’ first birthday and it was a blast! I’m so glad that everything went smoothly and that the guests really enjoyed what we prepared for them and our Princess.
The party’s theme is Hawaiian. We chose this theme because we saw The Princess’ love for the sun, beach and dancing! Here’s the save-the-date video I made a few weeks before the party:
We rented a beach pavilion in Club Manila East, a go-to resort for those living in the Rizal area. For our food, we got Shakey’s to prepare a meal with pizza, chicken, spaghetti and mojos for the guests. They also served soft drinks to cool the guests down on a super hot summer day.
Daddy A designed the tarpaulins for the party to make it easy for the guests to find the pavilion while my Mom and cousin bought grass skirts, leis and giveaways in Divisoria.
The grass skirts were given to participants of the Hula Dancing Contest while the leis were given to all guests to welcome them to the party and give them the Hawaiian vibe.
The Hawaiian-themed cake was lovingly designed and baked by my cousin, Ate Wowie of WowCakes. She even added some cupcakes!
To keep the guests entertained, we hired a magician and puppeteer. Both kids and adults enjoyed the whole show! Even I was amazed at the tricks they showed. To think Daddy A only found the duo a few days before the party while strolling in a mall after he got a hair cut. Hihi.
After about two hours of eating and partying in the pavilion, we let our guests enjoy the pools of Club Manila East. We hired the pavilion for the whole day so that guests can leave their things there without worrying about anything getting stolen.
For The Princess, though, the best part of her birthday was when we went home to open the gifts. She quickly tore the wrappers off the huge gifts she received and played with all the toys from her guests right away.
