Christmas is just around the corner and while most of you might be scrambling to tick things off your shopping list, I’m here searching the world wide web for noche buena dishes that I can prepare this year. It’s going to be our first Christmas in our new home and I bought new serving dishes so I’m excited to cook, cook, cook!
Shall we start?
Noche Buena Dish #1: Christmas Ham Glazed with Pineapple Sauce
Many thanks to our friends from CDO for sending over a Christmas basket with our favorite Noche Buena food. Christmas will surely be merry this year! Goodbye diet!
Noche Buena Dish #2: Filipino Style Spaghetti
What’s a Filipino get together without spaghetti? Come to think of it, wala akong get together na napuntahan na walang spaghetti. Aba, hindi party yan pag walang spaghetti! 😀 This dish is a mainstay in all Filipino parties–birthdays, baptisms, and of course, Christmas! Our minis love Del Monte’s Filipino-style spaghetti sauce with their spaghetti topped with lots of grated cheese so I’m definitely serving this on Christmas.
P.S. Many thanks to Del Monte for sending over gift packs! #PasKumpletoAngSarap talaga with Del Monte!
Noche Buena Dish #3: Grilled Stuffed Tilapia
You can find Daddy A’s recipe here. I promise you, this is VERY easy to make! Hop on over to the recipe page to see what’s the secret to the perfectly grilled Tilapia. 🙂
Noche Buena Dish #4: Lechong Baboy
We don’t usually serve this on our table because we always order too late (haha), but I see lots of families serve this during Noche Buena. I don’t think we’ll have it this year since there’s just four of us at home and having Lechong Baboy is a little too much. If you’re planning to order, though, I suggest that you order (in advance) from one of these top Lechong Baboy suppliers in the metro:
Lydia’s Lechon (one of my faves!)
There are several branches nationwide. You can order online here.

Noche Buena Dish #5: Paella
Sometimes, she also includes chicken or beef strips to her paella. This is a fun dish to try–you can actually add anything you want (just make sure everything tastes good together!).
I haven’t decided if I will include this dish this year, but if you want to serve paella during your Christmas feast, give this recipe by Jamie Oliver a try.
Dessert ideas:
- Fruit Salad
- Leche Flan
- Mango Float
- Graham Balls
