That Time I Stood Up For Mom-powerment

This year’s Mother’s Day was a special one for me because I had a chance to use it to empower other moms. FOXLife invited me to become one of their ‘Mom Icons’ in the second year of the League of Extraordinary Moms.

Fox Life League of Extraordinary Moms Year 2

Although I’m dead shy and scared to be on stage, I went for it because as the ‘Working Mom Icon’ of the League of Extraordinary Moms 2018, it was my chance to represent working moms–corporate moms, business moms, or work at home moms.

With me are other Mom Icons: Vin-zyl Joy Vicente (Young Mom), Pehpot Pineda (Prolific Mom), Michelle Aventajado (Special Mom), and Pia Magalona (Survivor Mom).

One by one, we shared what we know about motherhood with the crowd of moms at the event. Since I was the Working Mom Icon, I briefly talked about how I juggle my business and motherhood. I encouraged the audience to go for their dreams–even if they are already moms. In fact, motherhood pushed me to go for my goals.

It wasn’t just about being able to provide for my children, but also to be an example to them–especially our daughter–so they know what it means to work hard (and work smart); to dream and to slowly (but surely) work towards that dream.

After the day-long event, I was happy to have shared what I have always wanted moms to get from this blog: That life doesn’t stop when motherhood starts.

You go, mama!
