HOTEL REVIEW: Holiday Inn Clark

March was an extremely busy month for Arjay and I. He was busy with the activities they prepared for Fire Prevention Month, while I was busy with all my projects with clients. Although we are grateful for all the work and the income it has provided for our family, work somewhat burnt us out. Honestly, I was at the verge of quitting. I got sick after numerous nights of sleeping late and I felt so guilty that we suddenly lost time for the minis.

But, I didn’t quit. Arjay and I figured that all we need is a vacation – a reboot of some sort. So, when I was invited to a weekend event in Porac, Pampanga, we took that opportunity to book a relaxing stay in a hotel near the event venue. Since Arjay stayed in Holiday Inn Clark during a seminar before and assured me that it is a pretty decent hotel, we both agreed to have our overnight stay there with the minis.

Holiday Inn Clark did not disappoint. We had the most pleasant and relaxing stay! The location of the hotel is perfect for vacationers seeking some peace and quiet since it is located quite far from the busy areas of Clark. They offer lots of activities – they have pools for both adults and kids, a playroom for the little ones, a billiard hall, and bar and restaurants. The hotel is located within Mimosa Leisure Park, which brings vacationers near numerous activity areas like the Airsoft Arena and an obstacle course (Those are the only two things I saw when we went around; Arjay said there are many other activities in the area).

We booked a Deluxe Room (PHP 5,764/night) with two double beds (although you can get a Deluxe Room with one queen-sized bed) since the minis want their space when they sleep. The room has a hot-and-cold bath, a flat screen television, an office table and a beautiful view of the pool area.

The food is great, too. We were given free complimentary drinks at Copas, which we had in the evening while the minis were sleeping. We especially enjoyed our buffet dinner at Rodizio (PHP 1,225/head), the hotel’s restaurant that specializes in grilled food. Salad, Tenderloin Steak, Grilled Lamb, Steamed Shrimp, Grilled Sausages – you name it, they have it… and boy, did we try all of ’em! 😀

After our hefty steak dinner, we indulged in Rodizio’s dessert bar – probably the minis’ favorite part of our meal. They have ice cream, cakes, crepes, fruits and fondue. Being a crepe lover, I tried their Orange Crepe… and I didn’t let dessert pass without having a small bowl of crème brûlée, another favorite of mine!

The next morning, we ate our complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel’s Mequeni Restaurant. The minis enjoyed cereal and waffles, Arjay chose to go for an English breakfast, while I had Filipino breakfast. It’s a buffet, though, so you can mix and match.

While the amenities and food are really good, I think what made our stay truly pleasant is the experience that the hotel gave us. They took care of us by making the hotel feel like home… with butlers and chefs. 😀 We love how they welcomed us, how the pool staff helped us settle as soon as they saw us carrying two kids, how the bar and restaurant crew assisted us during our meal and made sure the kids are kept busy by giving them paper and drawing materials.

Holiday Inn Clark is definitely a family-friendly hotel! They have the facilities needed for a fun family vacation so you can take your little ones here for a quiet and relaxing stay or have some much-needed couple time with your spouse.

This was from last summer! LOL. I wish we can go on a vacation soon. (PS- Hope your boy is okay! Praying for him.)

  1. I love the cool green color of the rooms too! We stayed there to welcome 2010 and it did not disappoint. We tried also the Korean restaurant near the hotel, walking distance. Masarap rin! 🙂

  2. I really need to get away from work. This reminds me that I need to book a hotel for us for this summer.

I wonder if we can squeeze in a vacation this summer! I want to go abroad but is that advisable still for someone who’s 6 months pregnant? 🙂

I think a staycation is better for you. 🙂 From experience, taking a long trip with a baby bump is not very comfortable (I tried traveling when I was 8 months preggo!).
