Be a hero this Christmas: Join the #LahatSanta campaign

I’m sure everyone is looking forward to Christmas because of all the shopping, gift-giving, and feasts. However, not everyone gets to enjoy the joys of this season because of their standing in life. For this very reason, Save the Children launched the #LahatSanta campaign. Christmas, anyway, is a time to be grateful and a time to give back. The #LahatSanta campaign is your chance to be “Santa” this Christmas to those who need some Christmas cheer the most!

“In the Philippines, 1 in 3 children suffers from stunted growth due to hunger and malnutrition, and this means that they won’t be able to reach their full potential. Poor families struggle to feed their children and it’s estimated that 1.5 million Filipino children go to sleep hungry every night, not having eaten a thing all day,” says Dr. Amado Parawan, Save the Children’s Health and Nutrition Advisor.

Be a hero, wear a Santa sombrero!

By joining the #LahatSanta campaign, individuals, schools, and companies get to wear their Santa hats and raise funds in their own creative way to make the holidays more meaningful for everyone.

All you need to do is sign up on www.lahatsanta.ph to receive your fundraising kit, which includes a coin bank, Christmas poster, and a Santa hat (of course!). The kit also includes ideas for your fundraising activities, such as bake sales to good ol’ Christmas caroling.

Then, on December 15th, all participants are going to put on their Santa hats and shout out on social media how they are fundraising for Save the Children using the hashtag #LahatSanta. But the fun doesn’t stop there! There will be a fun run on December 17th, which is for the benefit of the Save the Children’s Christmas campaign.

“With every Lahat Santa hat comes great responsibility. Your commitment to Lahat Santa campaign could mean life-saving support for a child. Your donation can provide treatment to babies suffering from malnutrition and help expand our programs that could impact their lives in the long run,” Save the Children’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, Riel Andaluz, reminds the public.

A lot of individuals and companies have already expressed interest in the campaign. Are you up for the challenge too???
